INTERNATIONAL COWGIRLS OF THREE DIAMONDS STABLE

Picnicking with a Hungarian family, cantering in the Andes at 11,000 feet, galloping through the famous vineyards of Bordeaux, dining with a Sardinian shepherd …These are but a few of the remarkable experiences of a group of adventurous Three Diamonds Stable clients and Barbara McGinnis, as they travel the world on horseback.

Following months of preparation and training for long hours in the saddle, the “cowgirls” embark on these journeys, usually every year, to such fascinating destinations as Hungary, Ireland, France, Tuscany, and South America.  The routes by horseback offer unique views of lesser seen cultures and landscapes around the world.  Trips are generally planned with extra time to explore nearby attractions. 

In 2007, the cowgirls joined Barbara and her then fiancé, Tom Hawks, for their fabulous destination wedding at Villa Ferraia (http://www.villaferraia.it/), in Monticiano, Italy.  Vittorio Cambria, owner and proprietor, saw to every detail of this perfect event, from the organic flowers grown on site, to the delectable dinner of zucchini lasagna, stuffed veal, green bean soufflé and a beautiful wedding cake.  The evening culminated with stargazing in Vittorio’s observatory, under the amazing Tuscan sky.  Of course, the finest wines of Tuscany were featured throughout the trip. 

These intrepid women enthusiastically anticipate the next opportunity to experience equestrian pursuits of other cultures.
